Thiem (definitely improving): "I have a lot more confidence in myself and I can at least push most opponents in a very good fight"

Although beaten in the quarter-final stage by Sebastian Baez in Bastad, Dominic Thiem won for the first time in ages two matches in a row, against Ruusuvuori and Bautista Agut. Two victories which give him a lot of confidence for the future and the tournaments to come (he is registered in Gstaad and Kitzbuhel, editor's note).

“It was a really good game and a big improvement from last week. It was like night and day, a big step forward. I was the weakest player in three sets and faltered on several of my service games. He was definitely the deserved winner, but I was able to keep the game close. I have already won both tournaments and I am really looking forward to it.
